Welcome to One Car Garage, in which we choose a manufacturer or class of vehicle, and you decide choose single vehicle (no matter how old, no matter how exclusive) to live with for the rest of your life. This is your only vehicle, and all expenses are paid for, including price of entry, insurance, gas, etc.
Today I'll do something fun (or boring, cheaty, hard, etc.) and make you choose one car from the plethora of cars made by any Welsh car manufacturer (that's the fun/boring) part). But today we have a twist, and that is that I'll allow modifications when it comes to drivetrain, suspension and other bits and bobs, the only criteria is that the part MUST come from the same manufacturer that the original engine came from, and it must be somewhat feasible to actually fit said parts in the car you choose (that's the hard/cheaty part).
I'll take the Gilbern Invader MkIII, but I'll swap the 3.0 litre essex V6 and it's 4-speed transmisson for a Ford YBD engine (from the Sierra RS500) with the 5-speed MT75 Borg Warner, I'd also fit the suspension from a Sierra Cossie. I'll also convert the bugger to a LHD. The Invader MkIII looks like this.
But I'll take mine in green, like this MkII.
So, come on gals and boys, what Welsh car would YOU have, and what engine etc would you like.
PS. I KNOW this is rather silly, and many of you have seen me post this car a googolplex of times before. And I'm SO sorry, but I just HAD to do this.
PPS. I've got something better planned for next time, but I'm having a hard time with the words.

I like this Gilbern company, but I admit I had to Google [cars made in Wales] first. The GT looks good, but first I need to learn how to pronounce " Llantwit Fardre , Pontypridd , Glamorgan , Wales "

Whenever I want to know how to prononce names on places in Wales I just imagine how Gwen in Torchwood would pronounce it.
And yeah, todays OCG is a bit silly, but I LOVE Gilbern, so it had to be done. Seems like it was a tad ove the top though, ONE comment in half and hour? That must be an all time low.

well, you opened my eyes to a car firm I hadnt heard of in probably 7 years. And I had to double check where the Gordon Keeble was made cause I thought it might be close (another marque I hadnt heard of in a while)

The Gordon-Keeble was made in Slough and Southampton me thinks, and it's a beautiful car. I think it deserves a picture actually, we'll just pretend that Slough is the Wales of England.

I was in a pub last Saturday night, and drank a few, and noticed two very large women by the bar.
They both had pretty strong accents, so I asked, "Hey, are you two ladies from Ireland?"
One of them chirped saying, "It's WALES, you friggin' idiot!"
So, I immediately apologized and said, "I'm sorry, are you two whales from Ireland ?" That's pretty much the last thing I remember.

There was a classified a while back advertising an Invader with a Rover V8.
I want it.

Don't blame you for that mate, and that V8 is probably lighter than the essex V6 as well, so it's a win win.

How was the Invader Estate not the first choice!?!?!
Mine would come with a supercharged LS, 6spd auto, and tall highway friendly ratio.

I know this will sound strange, but I like the 2 door version better than the estate. But the Estate is a cool bit of kit, no doubt about that.
